How do bands work?
Bands are an amazing tool to incorporate into your workouts to challenge your muscles and see progress in addition to weights. Unlike weights, bands provide constant tension along your natural strength curve compared to weights. Simply meaning, as the band gets further stretched, the exercise gets more difficult. Example: in a dumbbell bicep curl, once you hit 90 degrees the exercise becomes easier due to gravitational resistance only. With a resistance band, once you hit 90 degrees, the exercise inevitably gets more difficult and tension is applied through out the entire exercise.
- Yellow (extra light ) 2-15 estimated lbs. Best for mobility, stability and rehab exercises. Can also be used in upper body & back exercises. 1/4" width, 4.5mm thick.
- Red (light) 10-35 Pounds. Best for upper body & back exercises, glute kick backs, side shuffles and small assistance in pull-ups & dips. Best for higher rep exercises. 1/2" width, 4.5mm thick.
- Black (medium) 30-60 Pounds -Best for pull up & dip progression, leg exercises such as front squats, hip thrusts and back squats. 3/4" width, 4.5mm thick.
